Ministry Expands Options for Intercity Bus Services
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has announced a new arrangement allowing intercity bus companies to utilize vehicles authorized for tourism transport to meet the expected surge in passenger demand during the Ramadan Bayramı holiday period. This measure aims to ensure that no traveler is left without transportation during the busy holiday season.
Additional Trips Permitted Until March 29
New Regulations to Ease Holiday Travel
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that passenger numbers typically exceed regular service capacity during holiday periods. To address this, companies holding B1 and D1 operation licenses for scheduled intercity transport will be allowed to deploy vehicles with B2 and D2 tourism licenses—provided these vehicles have at least 25 seats. These additional services must adhere to official fare tariffs, remain within authorized routes, and be reported to the Transport Electronic Monitoring and Supervision System (U-ETDS). The arrangement is valid until the end of the day on March 29.
This initiative is designed to accommodate the increased travel demand and support a smoother, more efficient holiday travel experience for all passengers.
