President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 47th International April 23rd Children’s Festival held by Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) at the Beştepe Nation’s Exhibition Hall in Ankara.
Making a speech at the event, President Erdoğan voiced his pleasure over hosting the children at the Presidential Complex on the occasion of the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, and said: “I thank each and every one of you for coming to our country and sharing our joy. I congratulate all the children all across our country and the world, starting with the ones in this hall, on the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. I remember with gratitude all our statespeople, martyrs and ghazis, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal in particular, who gifted you this festival.”
Touching upon the 6.2-magnitude earthquake that took place earlier in the day in Istanbul and the Marmara region, President Erdoğan extended his get-well-soon wishes to all affected by the quake, and added that the state’s all units, the Ministry in particular, are on the alert.
