New State Support for Foreign Brand Units Abroad
The Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye has announced a significant expansion in government support for exporters. Under the revised framework of Decision No. 5973 on Export Supports, rent expenses and promotion and marketing activities for units of foreign brands acquired abroad by Turkish firms are now eligible for state assistance.
Strategic Steps to Strengthen Global Presence
This new initiative aims to reinforce the global presence of products marked with “Made in Türkiye”. The government views not only the sale of products but also integration into international brand networks as crucial for sustainable growth. By supporting the acquisition and operation of foreign brand units, Turkish companies are expected to enhance their international visibility and competitiveness.
Encouraging Value-Added Export Growth
The expanded support mechanism encourages Turkish firms to acquire brands with established markets and supply chains, facilitating further integration into global distribution networks. This approach is intended to boost the value-added component of exports and contribute to Türkiye’s intellectual property assets.
Facilitating Multi-Channel Export Strategies
By including rent and promotional costs in the support package, the Ministry aims to help Turkish exporters establish a more flexible and multi-channel presence in world markets. The goal is to make it easier for Turkish products to access global retail networks and increase their recognition internationally.
The Ministry of Trade remains committed to providing exporters with comprehensive tools and support to strengthen their role as both producers and globally recognized brands. These measures are part of ongoing efforts to help Türkiye reach its strategic export objectives.
