Bursa to Become the 12th Province Connected to High-Speed Rail
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has announced that construction on the Bursa–Osmaneli section of the Bandırma–Bursa–Yenişehir–Osmaneli High-Speed Train Project has reached its final stage. The project aims to complete this critical segment in the second half of this year, making Bursa the 12th province to be directly linked to Turkey’s high-speed train network.
Direct Access to Ankara and Istanbul
Key Rail Connection for the Region
The completed Bursa–Osmaneli line will offer a direct connection from Bursa to the main high-speed rail corridor between Ankara and Istanbul, significantly improving connectivity for the region. Minister Uraloğlu stated, “Once this section is finished, trains departing from Bursa will link to the Ankara–Istanbul High-Speed Train line via Osmaneli, providing seamless access to the country’s major cities.”

Infrastructure and Construction Details
The Bandırma–Bursa–Yenişehir–Osmaneli High-Speed Train Line is being constructed over a total length of 201 kilometers, designed for speeds up to 250 kilometers per hour. The infrastructure includes 25 tunnels and 16 viaducts, with an annual capacity to serve approximately 30 million passengers.
Current Progress and Next Steps
According to Minister Uraloğlu, all earthworks, tunnel, and civil structures for the Osmaneli–Bursa segment have been completed, and superstructure works have progressed to 90 percent. The 106-kilometer section from Osmaneli through Yenişehir, Yenişehir Airport, Gürsu, and Bursa is set for completion in the second half of this year. Remaining construction from Bursa through Teknosab, Karacabey, Dağkadı, and Kuşcenneti is scheduled to finish by 2028.
