Minister Bayraktar Participates in Ramadan Activities at the Presidential Complex
Alparslan Bayraktar, Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, attended the Ramadan events held at the Presidential Complex, where he visited several stands and interacted with officials. During his visit to the Ministry’s exhibition area at the Presidential Exhibition Hall, Minister Bayraktar also met with young people and children, highlighting the importance of engaging the next generation in the energy sector.
Communicating Energy Efforts to the Public
Educational Approach for Younger Generations
Minister Bayraktar emphasized the significance of explaining the Ministry’s work, especially to children and youth. He noted, “Our work is fundamentally about people—our children, our youth, and our future. The field of energy is vital for today and for planning the next 30 to 50 years. Events like this provide an important platform to communicate and foster understanding of our initiatives.”
Bayraktar pointed out that the Ministry’s stand used interactive and accessible methods to explain energy-related activities, including mining, oil and natural gas projects from Turkish Petroleum Corporation, and nuclear energy developments. “We strive to present these complex topics in a way that children can understand—almost as if they are games—creating an inclusive environment for all segments of society,” he remarked.
Ongoing Projects and Regional Developments
Responding to questions from the press regarding regional tensions, Minister Bayraktar addressed the current situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to its planned seismic exploration projects in offshore Pakistan, stating, “Our target this year is to carry out a seismic study in Pakistan’s offshore areas, with plans to deploy the Oruç Reis or Barbaros Hayreddin Paşa vessels. While we hope for peace in the region, our operations are proceeding as planned.”
Continued Support for Citizens
Minister Bayraktar reiterated the government’s ongoing support for citizens through natural gas and electricity subsidies. He stated, “Despite global volatility in the energy sector, we have shielded our citizens from these changes for a long time and intend to maintain this approach.” He also mentioned that the Ministry would review the tiered natural gas tariff after the winter season.
