Minister Alparslan Bayraktar attended an iftar dinner organized by the AK Party Akyurt Branch in Ankara, accompanied by AK Party Ankara Provincial Chair Hakan Han Özcan.
Strength Through Leadership and Unity
In his speech, Minister Bayraktar underscored the significance of strengthening Türkiye amidst ongoing global conflicts. Referring to recent developments involving neighboring Iran and potential regional risks, he stated, “We must be much stronger as Türkiye in every respect—economically, politically, and in terms of defense. Achieving strength requires both robust leadership and national unity. Thankfully, we have a strong leader.”
Efforts Toward Energy Independence
Bayraktar highlighted ongoing initiatives to reduce Türkiye’s reliance on foreign energy sources. “If we achieve independence in energy, we will also gain economic independence, making our nation more influential both regionally and globally,” he noted. He pointed to domestic oil production in Gabar and local natural gas extraction in the Black Sea as major milestones. “We have now reached a new phase, conducting explorations abroad in countries like Somalia and Pakistan. For us, the ‘Blue Homeland’ is a legendary achievement in Turkish maritime history,” Bayraktar added.
State Support for Energy Needs
The minister also emphasized the importance of government support in electricity and natural gas bills. “In the new period, we aim to increase support for citizens in need, potentially providing direct payments during the winter months, similar to an energy fund. Those who do not need this assistance will be excluded, allowing greater aid for genuine recipients,” he explained.
Local Engagements in Akyurt
Following the iftar, Minister Bayraktar visited the AK Party Akyurt District Branch and Akyurt Municipality alongside Provincial Chair Özcan. There, he met with District Chair Murat Yıldırım, party members, and also held a meeting with Mayor Hilal Ayık.
