Antalya Airport Celebrates First Anniversary of New Terminal Buildings

Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, released a written statement marking the one-year anniversary of the new terminal buildings at Antalya Airport, which were inaugurated on April 12, 2025, in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Significant Growth in Passenger Capacity

Minister Uraloğlu highlighted that the expansion project has increased the airport’s annual passenger capacity from 35 million to 82 million. “With this upgrade, Antalya Airport is now the second largest in Turkey in terms of passenger capacity, following Istanbul Airport, which can handle 90 million passengers annually,” stated Uraloğlu.

Impact on Civil Aviation

The Minister emphasized that the new terminal buildings and supporting facilities represent a major milestone for the advancement of the civil aviation sector in Turkey.

Passenger Numbers Continue to Rise

According to Uraloğlu, Antalya Airport served 2,983,868 passengers in the first quarter of 2025. In the first quarter of 2026, this number increased by 5 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 3,138,499 passengers. “Our passenger numbers are steadily rising,” he noted.
