Turkey Surpasses Global Averages in Online Media Consumption

Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, has reviewed recent statistics on the nation’s social media usage. According to Uraloğlu, Turks now spend an average of 25 hours and 4 minutes per week on social media platforms. The total weekly time spent on online media has reached 41 hours and 37 minutes.

Comparative Global Insights

Citing data from the “We Are Social 2026” report, Uraloğlu highlighted that the global weekly average for social media is 18 hours and 36 minutes, noticeably lower than Turkey’s figures. Similarly, the worldwide average for time spent on online media is 33 hours and 27 minutes per week, while Turkey’s usage nears two full days, substantially above the global mean.

On a daily basis, Turkish users dedicate the most time to Instagram, averaging 1 hour and 53 minutes per day.
