New Regulations Aim to Strengthen Reliability and Consumer Rights

The Ministry of Trade has implemented updated regulations to improve the trustworthiness of the refurbished product market. These measures involve reinforcing inspection processes, expanding the range of products included, and ensuring stronger protection for consumer rights.

Certified Sale of Refurbished Technological Products

As of August 22, 2020, the Regulation on the Sale of Refurbished Products came into force. This regulation outlines the procedures and principles for the certified and guaranteed resale of items such as mobile phones, tablets, and similar technological devices. Currently, 25 authorized refurbishment centers operate under the Ministry’s oversight.

Benefits for Consumers and the Economy

This regulatory framework allows consumers to sell their used devices securely and purchase refurbished devices at more affordable prices. It also guarantees that consumers can efficiently exercise their warranty rights in case of issues with purchased products. Since January 2022, refurbishment centers have processed approximately 1,574,000 products, contributing significantly to the economy.
