Milestone in Mobile Communication History

According to Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Turkey has reached a significant milestone in its 32-year journey of mobile communication, which began on 23 February 1994. The move to 5G technology ushers in a new phase, signifying not just enhanced connectivity, but a broader transformation across various sectors.

Minister Uraloğlu detailed that, following the official announcement, 5G services will begin to roll out gradually across all 81 provinces by 1 April 2026. He emphasized the government’s goal to make this advanced technology accessible nationwide within two years, aiming to integrate 5G into every region of Turkey.

Impacts Beyond Communication

The transition to 5G is expected to significantly increase communication speeds. Minister Uraloğlu highlighted that the benefits will extend well beyond traditional communication.
