Türkiye Prepares for Official Launch of 5G Services

Türkiye is poised to mark a major milestone in its telecommunications sector, as the transition to 5G technology will be formally declared on 31 March at the Presidential Complex. The event will be attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.

Minister Uraloğlu Highlights a New Era in Mobile Communication

Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu noted that Türkiye has reached a pivotal stage in its 32-year journey in mobile communication, which began in February 1994. With the upcoming ceremony, the nation enters a new phase, embracing the opportunities presented by 5G.

Nationwide 5G Rollout Plan

According to Minister Uraloğlu, the rollout of 5G services will begin in stages starting from 1 April 2026, with the aim of providing coverage to all 81 provinces within two years. He emphasized that this advanced technology will not only enhance communication speed but also drive transformation across various sectors.

5G to Drive Innovation Across Multiple Sectors

The introduction of 5G is expected to bring significant advancements in areas such as smart transportation systems, autonomous vehicles, remote healthcare applications, smart manufacturing, high-resolution media broadcasting, and agricultural technologies. Minister Uraloğlu underlined that 5G will play a crucial role in shaping Türkiye’s digital future.
